Roads to Business Info Session

Welcome to Northwestern University!

We’re hosting a Roads to Business info session via Zoom. Participants will join faculty and staff from various business-related programs across the university to hear about the various academic paths and resources related to pursuing business at Northwestern University.

This event will include presentations by Chicago Field Studies, Economics, Farley Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Harvey Kapnick Center for Business Institutions, Industrial Engineering, Integrated Marketing Communications, Kellogg Certificate Program for Undergraduates and Learning and Organizational Change.

Incoming students should defer to the Admitted Students website for more information. If you’re unable to attend a Roads to Business session, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us with questions.

Farley Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation

The Farley Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation offers an Undergraduate Minor in Entrepreneurship and courses focusing on entrepreneurship and innovation. Farley courses teach students how to think like innovators and use creative problem-solving skills to help turn their ideas into reality, ranging from foundational classes in leadership, accounting, and marketing to experiential, team-based classes in which startup ideas are developed. The minor is open to all undergraduate students at the university.

Industrial Engineering

Industrial engineering (IE) focuses on skills needed to create, design, analyze, and improve the operation of complex systems. Data-driven decision making is a fundamental aspect of industrial engineering.

Integrated Marketing Communications

The Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) certificate is designed to give students an understanding of the principles of integrated marketing communications and then allow them the flexibility to select electives that match their interests and career goals. Students in all undergraduate schools at Northwestern are eligible to apply.

Learning and Organizational Change

The Learning and Organizational Change (LOC) concentration at SESP examines key concepts and ideas about formal and informal change across levels of society – for example, individuals, groups, organizations, and sectors. Students learn how to analyze and solve organizational problems across contexts. They also acquire knowledge and skills in leading, anticipating, and responding to change. This concentration draws from theoretical and empirical research and practices from disciplines as diverse as the organization and management sciences, learning sciences, sociology, psychology, economics, and design.

Chicago Field Studies

Welcome to the Chicago Field Studies academic internship program at Northwestern University.

For over 53 years, Chicago Field Studies (CFS) has helped students explore the broader community of the Chicagoland area, linking academic study and practical experience by combining a CFS class and an internship. In the CFS Course, students learn and apply a critical lens to the professional world, expand learning beyond the classroom and pursue both academic and career aspirations. Each quarter students are selected from a competitive applicant pool to take part in the CFS program. The largest academic internship program, CFS serves over 500 students a year from all schools and majors. CFS partners with over 250 organizations in all fields and industries to help students gain experience, build skills, and expand their network of Alumni and professionals.
